Academic Vice Chancellor Message

In the Name of Allah, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful

All praise is due to Allah, and peace and blessings be upon His chosen servants. To proceed:

Universities, as centers of learning, bear the responsibility of providing sound education and training to the younger generation, upon whom the material and spiritual prosperity of the country depends. Fortunately, under the umbrella of the esteemed Ministry of Higher Education of Afghanistan, Laghman University has been operating since the solar year 1390 (2011) and has graduated thousands of young people to serve society.

At present, the university comprises six faculties: Sharia, Economics, Education, Agriculture, Literature and Humanities, and Engineering, encompassing a total of twenty-three departments. Laghman University currently serves 3,433 students with the support of 52 administrative staff members, 35 service personnel, and 135 faculty members.

All members of Laghman University are striving, with the kind support of the esteemed provincial authorities of Laghman and the respected Ministry of Higher Education, to elevate the university to a position where it becomes a regional center of knowledge, education, innovation, research, and development. It is our aspiration that, in the light of Islamic and national values, this institution will bring pride and satisfaction to our suffering yet resilient people and to the Islamic system.

We are making our utmost efforts to uphold order, discipline, principles, and values within our institution, to further enhance the university’s academic standing, and, with the help of Almighty Allah, to reach a stage where anyone who spends even a single day at Laghman University considers it an honor. Likewise, those who graduate from this academic home should take pride in their affiliation with it and leave with sufficient knowledge and preparation to guide them through all the challenges of life, ensuring success and happiness in both this world and the Hereafter.
